Themeeee!

I think a theme is basically all in the text, if it can be proved by the text it can be considered a theme. A theme to me is like the lesson or message of a book.

It is important to understand a theme because if you don't understand the message or lesson of a book what's the purpose of reading the book.

Themes tend to also occur in the media or propaganda. Commercials especially, they're trying to get the message out saying that you should buy their product.
They occur everywhere!!

"Consider every moment to be important" & "don't take your family for granted."

Highlights!

My reading life this year has been pretty good. Both my books have been about the cancer of the blood; Leukemia.

In my first independent reading book, "My Sister's Keeper." The older sister Kate has leukemia and passes away.
In my second independent reading book, "A Walk to Remember." Jamie Sullivan which is a main character has Leukemia, falls in love , and then dies.

These two books have had a common problem but two way different stories.

I didn't really have any lowlights but i do think these books could have been longer so i could have more entertainment!

Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.

This will be my third independent reading book choice. So far the first five chapters have really been interesting, this book is relate-able. A book about the 'complex bonds between a mother and daughter.' What girl does not have trouble with her mother occasionally?
I believe that the character, Sidda secretely really admires her mother. Her mother may have mentally scarred her as a child, which may be the reason why she doesnt admit to admiring her.
I hope that by the end of this book Sidda and her mother will mend their relationship.
It also uses a literary device with flashbacks.
